My entrance into architecture arose initially out of a desire to better understand the context of the places I’ve travelled to and through. I am fascinated by the use of various building materials in different parts of the world and how landscape and other factors influence building patterns. I am intrigued by the different strategies architects use to design envelopes in different places for maximum efficiency.
This striving for efficiencies captures my imagination – how to express them in aesthetically pleasing ways that do not interfere with functionality – and is what drives my own learning and practice. Understanding the natural and built context within each project helps me to not only design for the client, but also for the community that interacts with these structures.
