ALICE HOLWAY DRIVE HOUSING

In the summer of 2021, VIA began work on a schematic design for a new 24-unit affordable housing project in Putney, VT, developed by Windham and Windsor Housing Trust and Evernorth. Located on a roughly 4-acre parcel straddling Alice Holway Drive just south of the Village Center, the housing development site considers the adjacent and well-established Putney Community Gardens and Farmer’s Market. Nearby, walkable neighbors include the Putney Food Co-op and Putney Meadows Senior Housing. An 8-unit townhouse and a 16-unit apartment building and associated parking will anchor the southern end of the property, while the community garden will remain on the north end. The buildings will be fully electric, with energy use offset by rooftop solar panels.
